Varietal(s) Gewurztraminer

The Muré Gewürztraminer Clos Saint Landelin is a unique Gewürztraminer with beautiful aromas of yellow fruit and vanilla. This wine is perfect on the palate! A Gewürztraminer as it should be. The wine is certainly ready to drink now, with beautiful, subtle notes of yellow fruit interspersed with a light creaminess. And not to forget the familiar light sweetness of a Gewürztraminer. However, this wine still has years of aging potential, after which this Gewürztraminer from Muré will only become more concentrated and mature. This Gewürztraminer Clos Saint Landelin from Muré can age for at least another fifteen years.

Fully organic vineyard

This magnificent winery was founded in 1650. Thanks in part to the private ownership of the Clos Saint Landelin terroir, they are among the absolute top. The vineyard is approximately 35 years old and produces truly beautiful Pinot Gris grapes. Because the roots penetrate so deeply into the soil, the grapes are rich in minerals, limestone, and freshness. For the past ten years, the estate has been farming its own vineyards entirely organically. To restore the vineyards to their original state, they are also experimenting with dense planting. Pierres Seches means "dry stone." The Rouffach terroir lies in the sub-hills of the Vosges Mountains. To develop their vines, the elders built terraces of dry stone called Murén. These terraces ensure good drainage of the clay and limestone soil and also provide ideal conditions for the vines.

A light golden wine with silvery hints

Located in Rouffach, in southern Alsace, Clos Saint Landelin, the Muré family's monopoly, covers twelve hectares. It is situated on the southern slopes of the Grand Cru Vorbourg. The steep, south-facing slopes are cultivated in terraces. The soil is clay and limestone with a high concentration of stones. The subsoil is made up of Bajocian calcareous sandstone and Oligocene calcareous conglomerates. The vineyard is organically farmed. The grapes for this white wine are harvested by hand on the first day of October. They are then transported in twenty-kilo boxes to the wine cellars. There, the grapes are carefully selected and sorted. Slow fermentation and aging on fine lees then follow. This light golden wine with silvery hints is a delicious wine with explosions of aromas. Highly recommended!
