This red Alsace Muré Pinot Noir is a small product, yet so beautiful and refined. Anyone who didn't know better would think of a beautiful Burgundy, as it has the same style. The grapes are harvested by hand and meticulously selected; only the finest juice ultimately makes it into the bottle, and you can smell and taste that too.

Synonym for top wines

The Muré winery has become a household name in Alsace. Wines have been produced here since 1650. Today, the family's twelfth generation is responsible for producing them. The name Muré is synonymous with top-notch wines, thanks in part to the private ownership of a fantastic terroir, Clos Saint Landelin. Muré is located just below the village of Rouffach, at the foot of the Vorbourg Grand Cru vineyard, where they own the best part of the south-facing slope known as 'Clos Saint Landelin'. In this part of Alsace, the weather is relatively warm, and the winery produces rich wines. During the vinification process, great attention is paid to preserving acidity and balancing and controlling any residual sugars. Muré's most famous wines come from the unique terroir of 'Clos Saint Landelin'. The Riesling and Pinot Noir, in particular, from this vineyard have almost acquired legendary status. Argiles Rouges refers to the red clays. The soil of Rouffach consists of limestone and clay. This clay is rich in iron and recognizable by its ochre color. Very favorable for the red grape variety, this soil produces a Pinot Noir with crisp fruit flavors and a beautiful tannin structure.

What does the Muré Pinot Noir Argiles Rouges taste like?

On the nose, this Muré Pinot Noir has a ripe style with hints of black cherry, amarena cherry, and licorice. The palate is equally enchanting, with ripe notes of red fruit, including strawberries, currants, and raspberries. On the back of the palate, the beautiful Pinot Noir spices, such as licorice, cinnamon, and vanilla, are evident. The finish also displays the characteristics of the Muré house: velvety smoothness and characterful tannins.
