Constant improvement at the Muré winery
Clos Saint Landelin, the Muré family's home in Rouffach, covers fifteen hectares. It forms the southern boundary of the Vorbourg Grand Cru. Due to the steep, south-facing slopes, terrace cultivation is the only option here. The soil is a stony, clayey-limestone subsoil composed of Bajocian calcareous sandstone and Oligocene calcareous conglomerates. The intense sunlight contributes to the terroir's distinctive character. Today, the twelfth generation is at the helm. Veronique Muré and her brother Thomas work together to ensure the winery guarantees top quality. The stylish, new, clean labels are just one sign of the constant improvement of this beautiful family business.
The best dry wine from Muré
Clos Saint Landelin, located in Rouffach, in southern Alsace, is the proud sole property of the Muré family. This 12-hectare estate lies just south of the town of Rouffach. Situated at the end of the valley, with a south-facing exposure, it enjoys glorious sunshine until the end of the day. Winds from the north and west provide perfect ripening conditions. The very steep slopes require terraces. The clay-limestone topsoil is very stony; the subsoil is composed of Bajocian calcareous sandstone with Oligocene limestone conglomerates. The vineyard is both biodynamic and organically certified. The vines are planted at a high density, approximately 10,000 plants per hectare.
