The Murphy Goode Pinot Noir is sourced from vineyards in various regions, including Arroyo Seco, Santa Maria Valley, and Monterey. The relatively cool weather in these areas maintains the perfect balance of fresh acidity and beautiful, round red fruit notes. Aging in French and American oak gives this delicious wine its aromas beautiful notes of young red fruit, light vanilla, and a complex freshness.

Beautiful Pinto Noir from California

In 1974, Jess Jackson purchased 32 acres of land in Lakeport, California, and planted it with grapes. Thus began the now iconic Kendall-Jackson winery, which, after Jess's death in 2011, is run with equal passion by his children and family; the Jackson Family. With the arrival of the Murphy Goode Winery, the winery expanded. Friends Tim Murphy, Dale Goode, and Dave Ready founded the winery in 1985. Their shared love of wine has made the winery known for its straightforward, award-winning wines and its casual, unpretentious style. The winery is run by Tim Murphy's three sons, and Dave Ready's sons are responsible for winemaking.

The aroma and taste of the Murphy Goode Pinot Noir

Pinot Noir ripens relatively early. To make an interesting wine, it must be grown in a relatively cool location, giving it enough time to develop sufficient flavor notes. Murphy-Goode's Pinot Noir is grown exclusively in higher-elevation vineyards and areas cooled by the Pacific Ocean mist. The young wine is aged for eight months in French and American oak barrels before bottling. The result is impressive. This beautiful Pinot Noir is perfectly balanced on the palate. Fresh notes with beautiful nuances of red fruit, embraced by light vanilla notes from the oak aging. Finished with soft, refined tannins and a hint of black cherry.
