This white wine from Norte Sur is made by Dominio de Punctum, a well-known name in the Spanish wine region of La Mancha. Its name comes from its location: Dominio de Punctum literally means "domain of the crossroads." The winery is situated at the intersection of three cities: Cuenca, Ciudad Real, and Albacete. It's still a relatively young winery, having only been in business since 2005 and founded by the Fernández Cifuentes family. The family wanted to produce organic wines at the highest level. And they've certainly succeeded, as Dominio de Punctum has already received numerous wine awards.

The Chardonnay vineyard of Norte Sur

The Chardonnay grapes for this white wine come from two vineyards, Finca el Fabián and Las Pedroñeras, in La Mancha, Spain. The vineyards and vines are approximately 15 years old and are already producing a top harvest for the Fernández Cifuentes family. The climate in the vineyards is perfect for organic viticulture, with warm afternoons and very cool nights providing a natural barrier against mold and other pests in the vineyards. The Chardonnay grapes retain their freshness and ripen very evenly. Harvesting begins early in the morning to protect the bunches from transport to Dominio de Punctum.

The aroma and taste of the Norte Sur Chardonnay

The resulting juice is priceless and exquisite. In the glass, it erupts in a golden yellow with a thick texture, captivating our senses. With our noses over the glass, we immediately encounter a powerful aroma of Chardonnay grapes, reminiscent of tropical fruit, citrus peel, ripe pineapple, and a touch of white flowers. The palate is captivating, and the palate is pampered with soft fruit notes of peach, pineapple, and mango. The thick texture lends a mildly dry character to this white wine. A touch of vanilla, exotic fruits, and excellent acidity balance everything out on the palate and finish.
