Vintage Report
The Grenache and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes easily ripened in the sun, while a fresh wind provided the necessary cooling and contributed to a unique, full harvest.
Did you know this beautiful Moroccan winery has been around for over a hundred years? Neither did we, and until recently, we'd never tasted a Moroccan wine. But that's truly changed; wines full of passion and fire—that's what Ouled Thaleb stands for. The winery originated near the coast with vineyards located between Casablanca and Rabat in the Zenata region. Vines have been grown here since 1923, and you can taste that in this beautiful red wine from this winery. Because the vineyards are closer to the coast than other wineries, the wines are fuller and more powerful. This is simply due to the more cooling breeze from the ocean.
The old vineyard of Ouled Thaleb Imperiale
The vineyards of Ouled Thaleb Imperiale are incredibly old, and the soil acts as a treasure trove for the vines. They can easily draw on abundant moisture and nutrients, resulting in a unique and vigorous harvest. The sun does its work, allowing the Grenache and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes to ripen easily. A fresh breeze provides cooling and contributes to the uniquely full harvest. After the morning hand-harvest, all the bunches are gathered, and the Ouled Thaleb winemaker creates a unique blend for this premium wine. What does Moroccan Ouled Thaleb taste like?
The wine has an attractive deep dark purple color. The nose of this red wine reveals beautiful aromas of plums and blackcurrants, along with hints of coffee and chocolate. The palate is smooth and fruity, with lovely notes of ripe red fruit, chocolate, and a touch of toffee. The long, full finish makes this wine a true gem from start to finish!Product details
