The old vineyard of Vignobles Paul Mas
The vineyards for this rosé are planted with the Syrah grape, one of Paul Mas's favorite varieties. Specifically, the vines for this top-quality rosé are grown in the southern French appellations of Languedoc, Languedoc-Pézenas, Grés de Montpellier, and Pays d'Oc. All vineyards are situated in limestone and gravel-rich soil, allowing the vines to easily absorb moisture from the soil. This is crucial during the warm and especially long summers. Once the Syrah grapes have reached their ripeness for this rosé, they are harvested partly mechanically and partly by hand. They are transported in small crates to the Paul Mas press. The skins are left to dry for only 20 to 30 minutes, which gives them the beautiful light pink color we expect from Paul Mas Rosé de Syrah.
Full and very powerful, this Syrah rosé
Paul Mas Rose de Syrah is a brightly colored Languedoc rosé. Just looking at it in the glass is a treat. On the nose, we noted delightful aromas of cherries, blossoms, and a hint of toffee. On the palate, this Paul Mas Vignoble Rosé de Surah is wonderfully full and smooth, with lovely nuances of cherries, raspberries, and a hint of spice. The finish is full, summery, and wonderfully long. One of the current top rosés.
