Pere Ventura Vintage

A stunning cava that is a wonderful blend of Xarello and Chardonnay. As a result, it combines the structure of the Xarello with the floral and fruity qualities of the Chardonnay. As the name suggests, it is a vintage cava, only produced in years when the best selected grapes meet the highest quality standards.

Traditional winemaking with a modern twist

The Pere Ventura winery is located in Sant Sadurni d'Anoia, approximately 35 kilometers south of Barcelona. It was founded in 1992 by the eponymous Spanish businessman, Pere Ventura. For his own winery, Pere Ventura, he had a clear vision and concept for wines and cavas. Like his ancestors, he strived for perfection and the highest quality. At the same time, he already had an eye on the global wine world and therefore began opening up international markets from the very beginning. He quickly made the leap to the top group of cava producers. The winery is very modern, but Pere always wants to focus on traditional winemaking. The grapes come from the El Serral and L'Oreneta plots on the Pere Venture Estate, located in the heart of Penedes, 220 meters above sea level. Yields are deliberately kept low, and all vines are farmed entirely organically. Harvesting is done by hand, and the berries are sorted in the vineyard and on the sorting table. Each grape variety is vinified separately. This is followed by spontaneous fermentation with wild yeasts at a temperature of 15 degrees Celsius. The two grape varieties are then blended. The second fermentation takes place in the bottle, and the aging lasts a total of 43 months.

Perfection requires patience

But the wait is more than worth it. This Pere Ventura Vintage has a straw yellow color in the glass with matching golden hues. It has a powerful nose of yellow flowers, combined with anise and herbaceous notes such as fennel, which are characteristic of the Xarello grape. It is creamy on the palate with an intense buttery undertone, a velvety texture and, above all, very seductive. A very elegant cava.
