The wines from Petra Winery exude passion. In a unique location in Italy, Tuscany to be precise, the father and daughter team manage a 300-hectare estate. The landscape is enchanting, and Petra's vines are deeply rooted in the nutrient-rich soil amidst the beautiful natural areas. This red blend wine surprises with warm aromas and a smooth, robust flavor.
Passion and dedication of Petra winery
In 1997, the Moretti family began their new adventure in Tuscany with the Petra winery. The estate is located near the village of Suvereto, and the vineyards are planted on the rolling hills of the Val di Corina valley. They distinguish themselves by expressing the true quality of the terroir. This ultra-modern winery is family-run by Vittorio Moretti and his daughter, Francesce. Petra means "stone" and represents the passion and dedication they bring to winemaking. They offer a wide range of elegant, powerful wines, including this Toscana red blend.
The blend consists of the finest quality Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot grapes. These are taken directly to the winery after careful harvesting. A strict selection process follows, distinguishing between different quality levels. The grapes are pressed, and then fermented in small wooden barrels at a controlled temperature. Finally, the wine is aged for 18 months in oak barrels and then 18 months in bottle.
The scent and taste of Petra Toscana
The Petra Toscana blend wine appears in the glass with a dark purple color. You'll immediately be surprised by pleasant notes of blackcurrant, blackberry, and blueberry. These are complemented by warm hints of chocolate, black tea, and vanilla. This red wine is round and supple, and on the palate, a powerful wine with a fine texture. The finish is long, with notes of blackcurrant and blueberry.
