Pierre Jean Colombard Chardonnay, Pierre Jean's best-selling white wine. Before this white wine is released by the winemakers, considerable work needs to be done in the vineyards and the winery. The vineyards for the Colombard grapes are planted on the slopes of the Côtes de Gascogne. This higher elevation provides the 20-year-old vines with the necessary coolness for this delicious grape. The Chardonnay is planted at a lower elevation because it requires more warmth for optimal ripening. Extensive pruning is required in the vineyards. While the grape yield is lower due to this extensive pruning, the quality is excellent. At perfect ripeness, the grapes are harvested mechanically, after which they are pressed separately and vinified. The final blend is then created.

Perfect price-quality ratio for this white Pierre Jean wine

Since 1914, Yvon Mau has headed the winery that produces Pierre Jean wines. The story goes that this man was cycling through France in search of fine wines. Having found the perfect location around 1913, he became the owner of the winery in 1914, which is still known by his name, Yvon Mau. This man was always searching for gems from unknown sources. High-quality wines at a very reasonable price. This is certainly still evident in Pierre Jean wines today. Pierre Jean is named after Yvon Mau's grandson, who also proudly led the winery for many years.

The taste of Pierre Jean Colombard Chardonnay

This white wine from Pierre Jean is a perfect blend of two world-renowned grape varieties. Upon pouring, we immediately notice a rich golden yellow color. On the nose, we noted aromas of citrus, pear, and a mild undertone of honey. This translates to a white wine that is pleasantly balanced with acidity and mildness. The citrus fruit gives this white wine a fresh hue, gently balanced by hints of white and yellow fruit. The long, smooth finish makes this white wine a real winner!
