This Pio Cesare Moscato d'Asti is truly delightful, a slightly sweet and refined sparkling wine! This Moscato d'Asti is made with Moscato grapes from old vines in select vineyards in Santa Vittoria d'Alba, Neviglie, and Trezzo Tinella.

The success story called Pio Cesare

The Pio Cesare winery was founded in 1881 by Cesare Pio with the goal of bringing the world the potential of great Piedmontese wines such as Barolo, Barbaresco, and Barbera. Today, the winery owns 50 hectares of vineyards in prime locations in the surrounding communities of Serralunga d'Alba, Grinzane Cavour, Barolo, La Morra, Treiso, Diano d'Alba, Sinio, and Trezzo. The winery remains family-owned, and today Pio Boffa, the founder's great-grandson, is at the helm. He continues the work and has also been responsible for a number of modernizations and changes at this beautiful, traditional estate. In this region, it is customary to buy grapes under contract from winegrowers. Pio Boffa decided that owning his own vineyards would be beneficial for the quality of the wines. Over the years, he has acquired several vineyards in the renowned Barolo and Barbaresco regions. The estate now encompasses 45 hectares and produces some wonderful wines.

Enjoy a slightly sweet and fresh Moscato d'Asti

The grapes are gently pressed. The juice then undergoes partial cold fermentation in pressurized stainless steel tanks. After partial fermentation, the wine is immediately bottled. This Moscato d'Asti is a brilliant yellow in the glass with fine bubbles. The bouquet is delightfully fruity and appealing. It smells of exotic fruit, pineapple, lychee, hints of light honey, ripe pears, and delicate spices reminiscent of nutmeg. On the palate, it presents its sweet fruit, with abundant juice, fresh acidity, and a delicate, tingling lightness. It's perfect as an aperitif or as a loyal companion on a hot summer evening.
