A cobbler should stick to his last, but that doesn't apply to the Pirovano winery. It was former cobbler Amadio Pirovano who launched a family business in 1850. It began with a restaurant where Amadio's sons also worked. They created exquisite dishes and bought only local wines, as wine was, after all, a family passion. This passion grew even stronger in 1910 when they began producing their own wines under the Pirovano name. They had a keen understanding of what was available in the region, and the Pirovano family had only one goal: to produce the finest wines from their beloved Puglia. And they succeeded, because today the winery has grown into a global player and also has wineries in other wine regions, including Puglia.

The best Montepulciano d'Abruzzo from Pirovano

The vineyards for this Pirovano Montepulciano d'Abruzzo are nestled in the rolling hills of Abruzzo. Thanks to their perfect location, the grapes receive everything they need. The soil structure is Pirovano's treasure trove, as wine has been grown on these lands for hundreds of years, and this is evident in the wine. When the harvest is ripe, it is harvested early in the morning to protect the grapes during transport to Pirovano. Upon arrival, all bunches are inspected and any unusable grapes are removed, improving quality. The result is a pure and creamy Montepulciano d'Abruzzo.

Soft ripe this Pirovano Montepulciano d'Abruzzo

This Pirovano Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is soft, round, and very refined. The name says it all: the Montepulciano grapes come from the warm Abruzzo region. Here, Pirovano has several beautiful vineyards that produce elegant and soft grapes. The aroma is already noticeable: plenty of ripe red and black fruit, cassis, and a hint of red flowers. The taste is typical Montepulciano, soft and round with a strong emphasis on the fruit. But on the back of the tongue, the Pirovano winemaker still manages to extract notes of spice and dark chocolate. A delicious glass for any time of day.
