Cantine Paradiso's founder, Grandfather Angelo, spent years raising the winery to a very high level. He established the winery in 1954, with the goal of producing excellent wines, always with the goal of letting the grapes shine and incorporating the right dose of Italian tradition. Today, Angelo's son and grandchildren still work in the family business. It has become a household name in Puglia, and the wines are sold worldwide.
Wood storage for the Posta Piana Primitivo
The vineyard is located around Cerignola in Apulia. The soil here is unique, containing a high proportion of clay and limestone, making it ideal for Primitivo grapes. Their deep roots allow them to absorb abundant nutrients from the soil and withstand Puglia's hot summers. The Mediterranean climate, with its cool sea breezes, allows the grapes to mature very evenly and peacefully. At perfect ripeness, the Primitivo grapes are harvested early in the morning. They are harvested entirely by hand and rigorously selected to ensure only the finest bunches are bottled. Before this happens, a large portion of the red Posta Piana Primitivo is aged for at least 12 months in oak barrels in the cellars of Cantine Paradiso.
The scent and taste of the Posta Piana Primitivo
This red wine is a true delight; it's smooth, full-bodied, and powerful. It all starts the moment we open the bottle, as we imagine ourselves in the heel of Italy. A beautiful aroma of red berries, cherries, and vanilla is released. Upon pouring, we knew for sure: this is a top-notch wine. A beautiful dark color with purple shimmer hangs in the glass. Nosing the glass, we noted impressions of black fruit, light spices, vanilla, oak, and a touch of currant. The palate is a feast for the eyes, full and powerful with a great deal of softness. Beautiful flavor notes of cherries, blackberries, and plums, accompanied by a light spice, vanilla, cedar, and a touch of clove. In short, a wine that, at this price, is a true discovery.
