This red wine from Prunotto is also called "baby Barolo," a wine made from the Nebbiolo grape, but grown in the Langhe wine region. The Prunotto winery was actually founded in 1904 by Giacomo Oddero and Alfredo Prunotto. The winery had a good start, but due to various influences, they eventually had to close it down. Alfredo Prunotto always regretted this decision and bought the winery back a few years later. He gave it his own name and continued his passion for winemaking. He more than succeeded, and the winery has since grown into a global player, thanks in part to its classic and smooth flavors. When Alfredo decided to retire, the Antinori family arrived in no time. They took over the winery and added a special touch, reflecting their deep and versatile winemaking expertise.

The old vineyard of Prunotto Occhetti Langhe

A historic wine from the Prunotto estate, produced since the 1970s. The soils are characterized by shallow sand, layered gravel, and layers of clay and limestone, giving the wine elegance and soft tannins. Thanks to this magnificent vineyard, the Nebbiolo grapes ripen perfectly in the Langhe region, harvested by hand. Each bunch is inspected, and only the finest are bottled. But before that, the entire wine is aged for a full 18 months in oak barrels. A true masterpiece, in our opinion!

Full and very powerful this Prunotto Occhetti

It's a joy to drink, and that begins the moment you open the bottle. As soon as the cork is popped, it reveals rich notes of roses and herbs. Grab a large glass and pour this wine. You'll be amazed by its beautiful ruby-red color. Nosing the glass, we smell notes of raspberry that blend smoothly with hints of rose and licorice. The flavor is full and harmonious, with a long, tannic finish.
