This beautiful Regnard Mercurey Rouge is a truly world-class wine! Made from whole Pinot Noir grapes, the grapes come from a vineyard northwest of Chalon-sur-Saône. Thanks to its location, the vineyard enjoys ideal weather conditions. The microclimate alternates between abundant sunshine and cold winds. This allows the Pinot Noir grapes to ripen perfectly and develop a distinctive flavor.

The special style of Regnard wines

Maison Régnard, founded in 1840, is one of the oldest wineries in Chablis and one of the few that still has a cellar in the center of Chablis. The estate possesses the most Grands Crus and Premiers Crus in all of Chablis. There are only seven Grands Crus in all of Chablis, and all of them belong to the Regnard estate. This results in a magnificent collection of wines. In 1984, Baron Patrick de Ladoucette took over the estate and has since continued and refined the style of the wines. The baron chose to expand his prestigious estate to the capital of Burgundy wines, establishing a majestic mansion with 18th-century cellars in the heart of Beaune's old town. The winery is currently considered one of the most important Burgundian wineries, with several plots of vines in the Mâconnais region, or in the southernmost part of Burgundy.

Completely hand-harvested for the Mercurey Rouge

The grapes are hand-picked before alcoholic and malolactic fermentation takes place in steel tanks. No oak barrels are used. This is to preserve the grape's character and expression. This Mercurey Rouge has a dark red color with violet highlights. It's a very balanced red wine with complex aromas. We noted aromas of jam, red and black fruit, and soft spicy notes. It stands out on the palate with its fine, silky tannins and red fruit notes. The finish is long and lingering. A characterful, well-balanced wine.
