Organic wine cultivation by Reyneke Organic
In 1998, Johan Reyneke took over his mother's farm. He decided to pursue a different approach to viticulture, operating entirely according to the principles of organic farming. However, Reyneke also embraces the philosophy of Rudoph Steiner, who uses herbs, minerals, and cosmic cycles to contribute to agriculture. This approach has made Johan one of the pioneers in Stellenbosch, South Africa.
The 100 percent Chenin Blanc grapes come from organic vineyards near the Atlantic Ocean. The vines enjoy the cooling sea breeze, allowing the grapes to ripen optimally. The soil consists of sand and granite, which contributes to the flavor profile. When the grapes are optimally ripe, they are carefully harvested and taken directly to the winery. Here, the grapes undergo natural fermentation in stainless steel tanks. After three months of aging on the lees, the final wine is blended and bottled.
The fruity aromas of Reyneke Organic Chenin Blanc
And with a successful result. The Organic Chenin Blanc has aromas of pear, peach, lemon, and apple on the nose. Over time, hints of pineapple also emerge. The palate offers plenty of ripe fruit, beautifully combined with a pleasant acidity. It leads to a dry, long finish with a pleasant structure. Perfect pairing with salads or poultry dishes.
