Description

A beautiful Italian red wine from the renowned Chianti Classico region in Tuscany, Italy. The Rocca di Castagnoli winery is located in the heart of this renowned wine region and is known for its high-quality wines that reflect the region's rich tradition and terroir. Rocca di Castagnoli's Chianti Classico wine is made primarily from Sangiovese grapes, complemented by other indigenous grape varieties such as Canaiolo and Colorino, creating a harmonious and balanced blend.

The extensive vinification process of Rocca di Castagnoli Chianti Classico

Rocca di Castagnoli Chianti Classico comes from the UGA (Unione di Viticoltori di Gaiole) of Gaiole in Chianti, located in the heart of the renowned Chianti Classico region in Tuscany, Italy. The Rocca di Castagnoli winery owns a total of 63 hectares of vineyards spread around the medieval fortress and village from which the company takes its name. The vineyards are located in different plots with diverse characteristics, such as different exposures, altitudes, and soil types. This variation in altitude and soil composition creates a unique terroir for the grapes, a key factor in developing the wine's complexity and characteristic flavors. The grapes are harvested by hand and carefully selected to ensure only the finest and ripest grapes are used in winemaking. After harvesting, the grapes undergo a 12-day maceration process. This maceration releases the color, aromas, and flavors of the grapes, giving the wine its characteristic qualities. Malolactic fermentation follows maceration, which takes place in steel tanks. The wine is then transferred to traditional Chianti barrels, where it ages for at least one year. These barrels are often made of oak and contribute to the development of complex aromas and the wine's structure. After barrel aging, the wine is placed in steel for another three months for further stabilization and refinement. After this stage, the wine is bottled and matured in the bottle for at least six months before release.

The smell and taste of Rocca di Castagnoli Chianti Classico

Rocca di Castagnoli Chianti Classico is a wine that impresses with its excellent complexity and flavor structure. With its deep red color and violet reflections, the wine exudes elegance. The aroma is intense and rich, with an abundance of fruity notes. The aromas of juicy cherries are particularly striking, while the fresh undertone is well balanced by vibrant tannins. These tannins are perfectly integrated with the other components of the wine, creating a harmonious whole. With every sip, the Chianti Classico unfolds with its delightful flavor, making it a delight to savor.
