Varietal(s) Chardonnay

This Saint Seine Chardonnay is a wine that truly enchants. The vines are very old and the yield is deliberately kept low, earning this wine the designation "private reserve." A quality designation rarely seen in the southern French wine region. This gives this Chardonnay its wonderful aroma, with fruity notes and a full, creamy flavor. This white wine from Saint Seine is a sultry and delicate wine.

Wood aging for the Saint Seine Chardonnay

Winemaker Eric Moec knows better than anyone how to handle the conditions in the wine region. The Chardonnay grapes receive plenty of sunshine and some cool nighttime temperatures, which is crucial for preserving the freshness of the Chardonnay grape. The soil is fertile, and the old vines have been in the ground for decades, allowing them to easily absorb moisture from the soil. This is essential, as summers in the wine region can be hot and long. The harvest is brought in under the early morning sun at the perfect ripeness. After harvesting, the Chardonnay grapes are once again selected and inspected at Saint Seine. Only the finest bunches are allowed to make it into the final bottle. But that's not all for this white wine, as a third of this Chardonnay is aged for several months in oak barrels. This makes it fuller and creamier, with deeper aromas and flavors.

The aroma and taste of the Saint Seine Chardonnay

Saint Seine Chardonnay is a white wine produced from premium grapes. While yields are low, the quality is exceptionally good. The aroma boasts uplifting notes of tropical fruit, sweet wood, and vanilla. The palate is wonderfully full, creamy, and sultry. This white wine has beautiful nuances of peach, mango, pineapple, and vanilla, all perfectly balanced. A rich, creamy wine that is certainly not too heavy. Delicious with salmon dishes or a salad.
