Selective harvest for San Polo Podervino Brunello di Montalcino
In the enchanting Montalcino region of Tuscany lies the renowned San Polo winery. At the helm of the Allegrini family, San Polo has established itself as a producer of high-quality Brunello di Montalcino wines. They strive to produce wines that are not only authentic in their flavor profile but also reflect the rich history and character of the region. With vineyards planted with the Sangiovese grape, the primary varietal for Brunello di Montalcino, San Polo produces wines that embrace both tradition and modern approaches to winemaking.
Around the beginning of October, when the grapes are at their peak ripeness, the Sangiovese grapes are harvested entirely by hand. Once in the cellar, the grapes are carefully selected and gently crushed. This is followed by a long aging period of no less than 30 months in lightly toasted barrels. After this period of oak aging, the wine is aged for at least another six months in the bottle before release. Fermentation takes place in tapered 2500-liter Slovenian oak barrels, where the wine is given the opportunity to develop its complex character.

The nose reveals interesting aromas of violet and jasmine, beautifully blending with notes of fresh fruit and herbs. Upon tasting, the wine immediately reveals excellent balance, with a well-structured palate and refined acidity. The tannins are very soft, contributing to its supple texture, and the finish is complex and harmonious.
