The beautiful Di Majo Norante winery is a true family winery par excellence. It is located in the Molise region, a small region between the Marche and Puglia. The winery has been producing wines here since 1800, as evidenced by the Di Majo Norante cellars. In the warm Gargano wine region of the Ramitello district, we find centuries-old vineyards and the beautiful winery. Local grape varieties are grown there with complete respect for Italian winemaking traditions. Today, the winery is led by Alessio Di Majo, who has played a significant role in the winery's development. He has further improved the vineyards and also adopted new, modern winemaking techniques. As a result, the purity and strength have increased dramatically in recent years. Unique wines made according to ancient traditions are what Di Majo Norante stands for.

The old Sangiovese vineyard of Di Majo Norante

The Di Majo Norante winery boasts a whopping 85 hectares of vineyards, a large portion of which are planted with Sangiovese grapes. This red wine, too, is made from Sangiovese and grows in a wonderful climate. The abundant sunshine allows the bunches to ripen easily, and the fresh ocean breeze provides the necessary cooling. All bunches are harvested by hand and subject to strict quality control. During harvest, the condition of the bunches is carefully monitored, and only the finest bunches are selected.

Soft and soft again this Di Majo Norante Sangiovese

When the Sangiovese arrives at Di Majo Norante, it's immediately pressed, and the skins are aged for several days to develop its beautiful red color. The juice is of excellent quality, so they don't use wooden barrels. Ultimately, winemaker Alessio Di Majo aims to create an accessible red wine with plenty of depth. We pour this red wine into a large glass and observe a beautiful, bright red color. It flows from the glass, revealing notes of sweet plums and cherries, sultry and slightly spicy. The palate is softer than smooth, offering lovely hints of black fruit. Later, the palate is captivated by soft tannins, accompanied by hints of herbs and blackcurrant jam.
