With a 92-point rating, this Sant Andrea Nero di Troia Primitivo is a wine to rave about. A wine from grandmaster Angelo, who founded the winery in 1954. He was a winegrower before then, and life after the war wasn't easy either. Yet, he had faith and took the plunge to create a fantastic winery. Well, Angelo succeeded, and he's as proud as a peacock of his Cantine Paradiso. He wanted to make each grape shine, using the southern Italian grape varieties. With his love for the grape varieties and Italian traditions, he developed the finest wines. Today, Angelo's son and grandchildren are at the helm of this beautiful winery in Puglia.

The harvest of the Nero di Troia Primitivo for this Sant Andrea

This red wine is made from the young vineyards of Cantine Paradiso. These are planted in the Cerignola region of Apulia, where the sun predominates. Because it's the sun that makes the grapes shine! Fortunately, the Nero di Troia Primitivo grapes also receive plenty of cooling wind, allowing them to ripen beautifully and evenly. At ideal ripeness, the grapes are harvested in the morning and brought indoors. Upon arrival, the Nero di Troia Primitivo grapes for this Sant Andrea are visually inspected again. This is followed by a gentle pressing and aging in steel barrels, making this Sant Andrea Nero di Troia Primitivo light and easy to drink.

What does Sant'Andrea Nero di Troia Primitivo taste like?

It all starts with opening the bottle, as we smell various fruity notes like forest fruits and cherries. Pouring reveals a beautiful red color with purple glints. Nosing the glass, we noted plenty of fruit, including cherries, blackberries, currants, and some plums. The taste is soft and pleasant, with plenty of sweetness and, of course, just the right amount of fruit.
