This sparkling wine from Austria has become a true classic. For years, it has been the best-selling sparkling wine from the Schlumberger winery. And for good reason. Its friendliness, accessibility, and appeal are almost legendary. It all began in 1842, when Robert Schlumberger founded the eponymous winery in the Austrian capital, Vienna. At the time, Robert was already no stranger to sparkling wine production. He had previously left his native Stuttgart to work in the champagne industry at one of the most renowned champagne houses ever: Ruinart. By learning the tricks of the trade at one of the finest champagne houses, it was a given that his own sparkling wines would also be a success.

The vineyards of Schlumberger Brut

The basis of this Schlumberger Brut is the Welschriesling. This grape variety is a distant relative of the Riesling and is primarily grown in Austria. After the indigenous Gruner Veltliner, it is even the most widely planted grape within Austria's borders. The vineyards for Welschriesling are scattered around the capital, Vienna, in the Lower Austria region. Pinot Blanc and Chardonnay also play a significant role in this sparkling wine. When the grapes are deemed ripe enough, they are hand-picked and brought to the winery in Vienna. Here, the Methode Traditionelle takes place. By adding yeast and allowing the bottle to rest, refined bubbles develop in Schlumberger Brut. After aging for at least 12 months, the bottles are released from the Schlumberger cellars.

Why buy Schlumberger Brut?

It takes a while, but it's worth it. It's no wonder this Schlumberger Brut has been a crowd-pleaser for years. Schlumberger Brut's key words are iron-dry and pure. Simply take the bottle out of the refrigerator and pour. The aroma is dominated by notes of apricot and green apple. The corners of your mouth will spontaneously curl. Take a sip of Schlumberger Brut and you'll instantly fall in love. The balanced flavor, bursting with ripe fruit, forms a beautiful whole on the tongue and cheeks. The mousse, the size of the bubbles, is elegant.
