The latest addition to the magnificent Schlumberger family. This winery has been a leader for centuries, not only in Austria but worldwide. The winery was founded in 1842 when the renowned winemaker Robert Schlumberger moved to Vienna. Thanks to his years of experience at the illustrious Ruinart Champagne in Reims, he wanted to create an Austrian equivalent of the delicate Champagne from Northern France. Well, we can safely say he more than succeeded. Nearly 180 years after its founding, Schlumberger is among the top tier of Austrian winemaking. Its bottles have found their way to all corners of the globe, where they are immensely popular.
The Rosé variant of Schlumberger Brut
The traditional Schlumberger Brut has been a true crowd-pleaser for years. The quality is consistently high, making it a true sales success. So it was high time Schlumberger launched its rosé version. This Schlumberger Brut Rosé is a perfect blend of three typically Austrian grape varieties: Pinot Noir, St. Laurent, and Zweigelt. The grapes grow in Austria's warmest region, Burgenland. This region is located in the far east of Austria and borders Hungary. After harvest, the grapes are treated according to the typical "methode traditionelle," a process Robert Schlumberger learned from his mentors at Ruinart Champagne.
A beautiful bubble from Schlumberger
For decades, Schlumberger has been synonymous with extravagant sparkling wines. Bubbles that delight your senses. A delight during many an aperitif. That's why we had high expectations when we first tasted this Schlumberger Brut Rosé. In both the aroma and taste, we discovered the craftsmanship Robert Schlumberger had learned at Ruinart Champagne. Simply fantastic. The color alone makes us incredibly happy. On the nose, you discover fresh apple, soft strawberries, and generous raspberries. You also detect a hint of freshly baked bread. The palate is surprisingly creamy, with a delicate bubble that lands beautifully on your tongue. You taste elegant red fruit that fills your mouth. This Schlumberger rosé is a true celebration, from the first sip to the last drop.
