What a delicious rosé this Selection Cazal Viel Rosé from winemaker Laurent Miquel is! The grapes come from the best vineyards in Languedoc, with abundant sunshine and a fresh sea breeze creating a superb climate. Since 1791, the Miquel family has cared for the Cazal Viel estate, formerly managed by the monks of Fontcaude Abbey. The land surrounding the house was very fertile and was used for hunting and winemaking. However, at that time, the wine yielded little, and the family gained little wealth. Almost 200 years later, in 1970, these vineyards were extensively cultivated with Syrah, and thus winemaking began. In 1980, Henri Miquel released his first vintage. Today, Laurent Miquel is the owner of this renowned estate and is considered one of the best young winemakers in the South of France. Inspired by his father Henri's passion and dedication as a top winemaker, he is successfully following in his footsteps. His two passions are the Syrah and Viognier grape varieties, for which he has achieved widespread recognition at international tastings.
