Soft and round, yet refined, are the key words for this red Selection Cazal Viel Rouge wine. Winemaker Laurent Miquel uses Merlot, Syrah, Grenache, and Carignan grapes, allowing him to create the best blend every year, and at this price point too. Cazal Viel is one of the oldest vineyards in France, as vines have grown here since ancient times. The Romans discovered this area and were the first to introduce vines. From 1202 until the French Revolution, the area was managed by the monks of Fontcaude Abbey. The Miquel family took over Cazal Viel in 1791. Today, Cazal Viel is the largest independent vineyard in the Saint-Chinian appellation. The passion of owner Laurent Miquel and his father Henri creates exceptional wines.
