Teofilo Reyes is a legend in the Ribera del Duero wine region. His wines are consistently high-quality with a velvety style. Thanks to these wines, he put the region on the map. And this Ribera del Duero wine is a prime example. This high-quality wine also displays a beautiful style. Plenty of fruity notes and a fresh, yet above all, balanced flavor. The Tempranillo grape takes center stage this time, which, thanks to the terroir of this region and the expertise of this winery, truly shines.
The vineyards of Teofilo Reyes
The 60 hectares of vineyards are spread across several villages and three wineries. All vineyards are planted with the Tempranillo grape. In Manzanillo, Teofilo Reyes owns two vineyards: one with chalky soil at an altitude of 750 meters, and the other with sandy soil at an altitude of 500 to 650 meters. The estate also owns a vineyard in Olmos de Penafiel, which consists largely of clay soil and the vineyards are situated at an altitude of 900 meters. The finest Tempranillo grapes are collected from these vineyards and vinified together to create this Ribera del Duero wine.
The climate is extreme. Winters can be very cold with frequent frosts, while springs experience a somewhat warmer climate with the potential for subzero temperatures. Summers can be very hot with cool nights. The variable climate makes grape growing challenging, but with the necessary expertise, ripe and high-quality grapes can be produced. The grapes are carefully selected and undergo traditional vinification.
The scent and taste of Sierra Iberica Ribera del Duero
The Sierra Iberica Ribera del Duero shines with a brilliant ruby red color in the glass. The nose is intense with aromas of red fruit and toasted notes of wood, complemented by delicate spices. On the palate, it is a fresh, balanced wine. Deliciously juicy with flavors of abundant red and black fruit. The finish is long and lingering.
