The climate is ideal, with positive influences from the Atlantic Ocean. The terroir is unique, and the Chaves winery also brings with it years of tradition. These are the ingredients for this delicious Monterrei wine. This high-quality wine is produced with great respect for nature. An elegant, yet above all, aromatic wine.
The quality wines of Chaves
José Chaves founded the Chaves winery in 1955 at the westernmost tip of the Atlantic Ocean. The same love of wine was passed down from generation to generation. In 1986, the winery was among the first to release wines protected by the "Vinos de la Tierra" designation, guaranteeing the origin of Albariño del Salnés. With this, they clearly put wines from the Rías Baixas region on the map. Today, the third generation proudly heads the highly successful Chaves winery.
When the Godello grapes are ripe enough, they are harvested entirely by hand and transported to the winery in small crates. Once arrived, they undergo rigorous selection and fermentation at a controlled temperature of around 16 degrees Celsius. The wine is then aged on lees for three months, which gives it its complexity and creaminess. Finally, the wine is aged for another month in stainless steel tanks.
What does Silva Daponte Godello taste like?
The Silva Daponte Godello emerges in the glass with a lemon-yellow color. Close inspection reveals beautiful greenish reflections. A pleasant fruity aroma leaps from the glass. Apricot and peach dominate, joined by chamomile and light spicy notes. The palate is round and creamy. Grapefruit, apricot, and nectarine are now clearly discernible. A soft wine with pleasant acidity and a long finish.
