This full-bodied Chardonnay comes from the unique Alto Adige wine region in Italy! More and more Chardonnay is being planted here. This white grape produces wines with a mild and fresh character. Early harvesting is crucial to preserve the wine's acidity.
The popular Andrian winery
After merging with the Terlan winery in 2008, the Andrian cooperative, the oldest winegrowing association in South Tyrol, sustainably restructured its wine range and revised its corporate profile. Despite, or perhaps because of, the merger, the Andrian winery has become increasingly popular, particularly in Germany, Italy, and the US—and rightly so! The continuous development of its work, combined with diligence and intuition, continues to contribute to the production of unparalleled quality in South Tyrol. The Chardonnay Somereto is one of the most popular wines from the Andrian cooperative winery. The grapes for this pure white wine grow on well-ventilated calcareous porphyry soils in the municipality of Andrian at an altitude of 260-380 meters, where they ripen exceptionally well in South Tyrol's Mediterranean climate.
Fresh, full, fantastic
The Chardonnay "Somereto" from the Andrian winery can be summed up in these three words. For the Chardonnay Somereto, selected hand-picked grapes are fermented in the cellar at a controlled temperature in a stainless steel container. It is then stored and aged on the fine lees for six months. The result is a pure Chardonnay from the winery's classic line, presented in the glass with a light straw yellow color. The fruity, fresh, and intense bouquet inspires with bright and characteristic aromas of ripe bananas and tropical fruit. On the palate, this Chardonnay is very harmonious, round and voluminous, juicy and fruity, with pleasant acidity and a successful, long finish. Andrian Somereto is a first-class South Tyrolean Chardonnay, full of fruit and finesse! A bright summer wine, as the name Somereto on the label suggests – hats off!
