A perfect rosé for any occasion. As soon as the sun starts shining again, it's wise to always have a bottle of Soopjeshoogte rosé in the fridge. This South African rosé gives you everything you could want. It's an ideal aperitif wine that your company will love. The producer is Soopjeshoogte, a winery with vineyards near the Helderberg. This natural giant is located just east of the metropolis of Cape Town. The name Soopjeshoogte is a beautiful corruption. Soopje was the nickname of an excellent winemaker who made a splash in the 1920s. Because his vineyards were situated on a hill, the name Soopjeshoogte was easily coined.

A beautiful rosé made from two grape varieties

The Soopjeshoogte vineyards are located just outside the mighty city of Cape Town, in an area surrounding the Helderberg Mountains. This area forms the westernmost tip of the vast Western Cape wine region. The vineyards receive abundant sunshine during the day, but at night, a pleasant sea breeze blows through them. This is due to the vineyards' relative proximity to the ocean, which keeps the grapes wonderfully fresh. Soopjeshoogte Rosé uses two grape varieties. First, Merlot, which produces an enormous amount of fruit in this wine. Second, the local favorite, Pinotage, is used, which provides the necessary freshness and depth.

Always a party with Soopjeshoogte Rosé

The Merlot and Pinotage grapes are harvested in the early morning. It's still pleasantly cool in the vineyard, allowing the grapes to retain a rich aroma and flavor. During fermentation, the skins have only brief contact with the rest of the juice. This allows the color of Soopjeshoogte Rosé to remain a beautiful light pink. The aroma and flavor of this South African wine are sensational. As soon as the bottle is capped, the sun spontaneously begins to shine. You smell a wealth of red fruit: raspberries, strawberries, and berries. The palate is soft, fruity, and wonderfully fresh. The acidity is rounded and refined. This places Soopjeshoogte Rosé in the top class in terms of price and quality.
