Spier Estate, one of South Africa's finest wineries. At Spier, they strive to create wines for everyone. Therefore, they've created several different series, ensuring there's a suitable wine for every wine drinker. One of these series is the Spier Discover Collection. This series consists of a triptych of red, white, and rosé and is very accessible. This Spier Discover Chenin Blanc Chardonnay is no exception. As the name suggests, this white wine is made from Chenin Blanc and Chardonnay. The grapes for this delicious white wine are all hand-picked and then carefully destemmed. This ensures that only the flavors of the grapes are released into the wine. Both the Chenin Blanc and Chardonnay are planted on an old riverbed, ideal soil for growing grapes. The Chenin Blanc is planted as a bushvine, meaning the plants grow as a kind of thicket without any training. This is the best way for the Chenin Blanc grape to ensure that the grapes receive as much nutrition as possible. The Chardonnay is neatly planted and can therefore ripen optimally in the South African sun.
