The grapes for this Chenin Blanc come from vineyards near the South African coast, where cool ocean winds and rich soil structures ensure slow ripening and intense aroma development. Spier selects only the finest plots for the Seaward series, in which terroir clearly takes center stage.

Vinification and grape variety: 100% Chenin Blanc

This wine is made from 100% Chenin Blanc. A portion is fermented in oak barrels, while the remainder is aged in stainless steel. This combination creates freshness and depth. After fermentation, some of the wine is aged on the lees, which contributes to its texture and complexity.

Tasting notes: tropical fruit, fresh acidity and a soft finish

The nose reveals aromas of ripe peach, citrus, and tropical fruit . On the palate, the wine is fresh and full-bodied, with juicy notes of melon and peach, and a mineral undertone. The acidity creates tension, while the mouthfeel is rounded out with a silky finish.
