Wood aging for Talamonti Moda Montepulciano D'Abruzzo
Talamonti's adventure began in 2001, when this winery in Abruzzo was founded. The primary focus is on finding a balance between the grape variety and the vineyards. The winery owns a total of 45 hectares of vineyards featuring native grape varieties. The vineyards are located near the Apennine mountain range and the Adriatic Sea, creating an exceptionally favorable climate for the native grape varieties. The fresh sea breeze provides the necessary cooling, allowing the grapes to ripen perfectly. Quality is paramount, and therefore nothing is left to chance. The pure wines are vinified using modern methods with great respect for nature.
Talamonti's vineyards cover approximately 45 hectares at an altitude of 300 meters above sea level. The soils here consist of stone and limestone, which gives the final grapes a unique character. The grapes are given time to develop fully and are only harvested at peak ripeness. Harvesting is carried out entirely by hand to ensure quality. In the winery, a strict selection process follows, after which the grapes are destemmed grape by grape. Fermentation then takes place at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks. Finally, the Moda Montepulciano D'Abruzzo is aged in oak barrels for six months.
An intense and fruity red wine from Talamonti
With its ruby red color, this Moda already distinguishes itself from other big names. It releases a beautiful aroma with intense notes of cherries, plums, and raspberries. This fruit is also strongly present in the taste. An intense red wine with good structure, wonderfully elegant with pleasant oak notes thanks to its aging. The intensity of this wine makes the Moda an excellent match for hearty meat dishes like stews.
