Talbott Kali Hart Chardonnay

This Kali Hart is made from the first vineyards planted in the Santa Lucia Highlands, this old vineyard comprises 565 acres on a sprawling hillside. Situated in a scenic spot just 13 miles from Monterey Bay, the subsoil is well-drained, thanks to the gravelly loam soils that allow the vines to absorb underground minerals, creating rich, concentrated flavors. With a long, cool growing season, the grapes develop the character, intensity, and depth of flavor for which the vineyard has become renowned.

Two of Talbott's great vineyards

Talbott Winery is world-renowned, and with its impressive estate vineyards, it cultivates its entire estate. It all began in 1982 when Robb Talbott began planting on the windswept mountaintop in Carmel Valley. Traditional Burgundy grape varieties were planted in Californian soil. This combination has proven to be Talbott's success. The grapes are planted on two of Monterey County's grand cru vineyards. These two vineyards have remarkably different growing conditions, allowing them to harvest distinctive Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes. Today, the family-owned winery has become a resounding success. The wines are enjoyed worldwide and receive exceptional awards.

Wood aging for the Talbott Kali Hart Chardonnay

After being hand-harvested, this Kali Hart Chardonnay is aged for a full nine months in oak, five percent of which is new, unused oak. The winemakers are meticulously focused on producing the purest possible Chardonnay wine, resulting in a rich and clear white wine. Kali Hart is the fruitiest wine in the Talbott family. Aromas of vanilla and brioche leap from the glass, accompanied by abundant tropical fruit. Ripe and intense notes of pear, pineapple, mandarin, and melon give this wine a delightful, inviting flavor. This Chardonnay shines with a soft, refined finish, a hint of minerality, and sweet spice.
