Chianti Classico Tenuta Perano Riserva is the bigger brother of Chanti Classico and is also born on the hills of Gaiole in Chianti from vineyards at an altitude of 500 meters. The south-southwest exposure and the amphitheater-shaped vineyard maximize sun exposure and concentrate its heat. The combination of altitude, exposure, and the shape of the vineyard and its slope creates an exceptionally unique blend that results in a brilliant purple wine with intense fruity aromas and a superb structure full of elegance.

Long Wood Bearing for the Tenuta Perano Chianti classico Riserva

All grapes are hand-picked from the oldest vines in the vineyard. The finest bunches are harvested first and transported like princesses to Tenuta Perano. Transport takes place in small crates, after which all grapes undergo a double inspection, both for ripeness and imperfections. The bunches are pressed, and the entire wine matures for an impressive twenty-four months in Slovenian oak in the Frescobaldi cellars. This long period allows this Chianti to fully develop. Some of the oak used is new, and we taste that in the deep flavor. Once the twenty-four months are up, the bottles are filled and returned to the Frescobaldi cellars, where it continues to mature in the bottle for several more months. Only when this Tenuta Perano Chianti Classico Riserva is truly perfect can we enjoy this superb wine.

The smell and taste of the Tenuta Perano Chianti Riserva

Tenuta Perano Riserva immediately presents a brilliant ruby ​​red color with violet reflections. The aroma is complex and intense. Floral notes, ranging from sweet violet to poppy, immediately permeate the nose. Fruity notes quickly emerge, reminiscent of blackcurrant and blueberry. Over time, the emphasis shifts to earthy notes, evoking nutmeg and black pepper, as well as cocoa powder. The palate is just as beautiful as the aroma, offering a very warm mouthfeel with abundant black fruit such as plums, cherries, and blackberries. On the back of the tongue, a lovely presence of balsamic vinegar, as well as tobacco and leather. The finish is long and harmonious.
