This red wine comes from the leading Tramin winery. This winery was founded in 1889, when the Parisian priest Christian Schrott united several winemakers in the northern Italian town of Termeno into a cooperative. It was named after the German name of Termeno, Tramin, which was established just below the large Italian city of Bolzano. The collective now comprises no fewer than 270 winegrowers who collectively cultivate a vast acreage of vineyards. As a result, Tramin winery has become one of the largest wineries in Alto Adige.

An Italian wine from Tramin

The unique location of the Tramin winery, in the bilingual region of Alto Adige, allows you to find a unique diversity of grape varieties. Besides grapes familiar to Italy, such as Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio, you'll also find varieties that have a foothold in German-speaking countries. These include Pinot Bianco, Gewürztraminer, and Lagrein. Pinot Nero and Blauburgunder, which are also found in this red wine, also feature in the vineyards. These descendants of the Pinot Noir grape create an unparalleled wine in this Italian region.

Impressions of Tramin Pinot Nero Alto Adige

It all begins with the harvest of the delicate grapes. This is done manually in small baskets to protect the delicate grapes and prevent them from oxidizing. Tramin Pinot Nero Alto Adige also receives a touch of French oak, giving this red wine that little something extra. Once the bottles are ready to leave the cellars, we can finally try our hand at Tramin Pinot Nero Alto Adige. The aroma immediately reveals the pure notes of Pinot Nero: raspberries, sour cherries, and other forest fruits. The juicy flavor easily plays with your taste buds. A light, firm tannin tickles your tongue. Tension and excitement build, yet Tramin Pinot Nero Alto Adige remains delightfully gentle. A true gem from northern Italy.
