Besides their beautiful red and white wines, this classic winery also produces a superb rosé. Located in the heart of Tuscany, we find Villa Trasqua. This winery was founded in 1965 in the finest part of the Chianti region. From the estate's watchtower, there's a magnificent view of the expansive vineyards, the ancient olive groves, and the centuries-old farmhouses surrounding it. A feast for the eyes. It's like being in paradise on earth.

Sangiovese the grape from Chianti

This beautiful, light-colored rosé is made from the Sangiovese grape, a grape not entirely unknown in the Chianti region. It's from this grape variety that the world-famous Chianti wines are made! It's a grape that offers both great suppleness and a pleasant power. For this Trasquanello, the grapes are harvested early in the morning. This allows them to retain a pleasant freshness, which is essential for this rosé. All grapes are grown with an eye for nature, meaning the grapes are rarely, if ever, sprayed. The result: a wine of exceptional purity! Harvesting is done entirely by hand. Only the best Sangiovese grapes are good enough for this delicious rosé. Sangiovese grapes also require careful attention during harvesting. After harvesting, the grapes are carefully and very gently pressed and fermented. This gentle pressing allows the juice to only briefly touch the skins, which explains the beautiful salmon-pink color. After aging for four months in stainless steel vats, the rosé is ready to be enjoyed.

The Trasquanello Sangiovese rosé from Villa Trasqua has a pure, light salmon pink color. A color we recognize from Provence but haven't seen much of in Italy before. This color already has us thinking big! The nose offers a wonderfully rich bouquet with aromas of young red fruit and a light hint of spice. The taste of this summery gem is full, intense, yet wonderfully fresh. Beautiful nuances of red fruit like raspberries and strawberries alternate with notes of light citrus and a touch of spice. This creates a perfect harmony within the wine. The finish is full, fresh, and wonderfully smooth.
