Vintage Report
The 2021 vintage in Chile is considered excellent with a score of 93 points according to the Robert Parker index. The wines from this year are described as still youthful and need time to fully develop.
Ventisquero's Yelcho Cabernet Sauvignon is a real surprise for its price point. Hailing from the renowned Colchagua Valley, this wine is aged for ten months in French oak barrels, giving it a distinctive character.
Ventisquero: Pioneer in Innovative Wine Production
Founded in 1955 by the visionary Don Gonzalo Vial, Ventisquero has built a reputation for producing top-notch wines since 1998. With a philosophy focused on innovation and quality, the winery enlisted the expertise of renowned Chilean vinologist, Mr. Montes, to select the ideal grape varieties. Ventisquero now owns vineyards in seven prominent Chilean wine regions, including Maipo, Casablanca, Apalta, Lolol, Leyda, Peralillo, and Huasco (Atacama), and insists on using only its own grapes for its wines. With a deep respect for nature, Ventisquero employs sustainable practices such as limited water use, carbon offsetting, and habitat conservation. The Yelcho Cabernet Sauvignon grapes underwent careful pre-fermentative maceration at low temperatures to enhance their rich colors and aromas. Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks at temperatures between 26 and 28 degrees Celsius. After aging for ten months in French oak barrels, the wine was aged for a further six months in bottle.Yelcho Cabernet Sauvignon: A Symphony of Flavor
Chilean wines are known for their diversity and refinement, and Yelcho Cabernet Sauvignon is no exception. This wine shines with a deep ruby red hue and treats the nose to aromas of raspberry, strawberry, and blackcurrant, enriched with subtle spicy and oaky notes. The flavor of Yelcho Cabernet Sauvignon is harmonious, with a perfect balance of fruit and oak, resulting in an impressive finish. Cheers to the finesse of Chile!Product details
