Varietal(s) Carmenere, Syrah

The Ventisquero Vertice is undoubtedly one of Ventisquero's crown jewels. This unforgettable red wine, composed of 51% Carmenere and 49% Syrah, embodies the essence of the Colchagua Valley. Here, the Carmenere grapes grow in red clay soil, while the Syrah grapes benefit from granite-rich, clay-rich soil, both located on the higher slopes of Apalta.

22 Months of Maturation for the Sublime Ventisquero Vertice

Chile is home to historic wineries and modern pioneers. Vina Ventisquero falls into the latter category, founded as the visionary project of Gonzalo Vial. With a winery in the Maipo Valley and surrounding vineyards, including those in Casablanca Valley and Apalta Valley, Ventisquero is synonymous with innovation and top quality. The carefully hand-harvested grapes undergo pre-fermentative maceration at low temperatures, allowing their color and aromas to fully develop. Fermentation takes place in both small stainless steel tanks and open tanks, where tannin management is crucial. This wine then matures for 22 months in 300-liter, ultra-fine-grained French oak barrels, 40% of which are new. After this aging, the Ventisquero Vertice rests in the bottle for at least another 14 months.

Rich Aromas and Spicy Flavors

The Ventisquero Vertice treats the nose to aromas of black fruit like blackberry, combined with soft herbs, moist earth, native forest notes, and a hint of graphite. This wine is beautifully structured with silky tannins. The harmony between the black fruit, spicy notes, and medium to high acidity creates a balanced flavor and a lingering finish. Perfect with spicy dishes from Indian, Thai, Mexican, and Spanish cuisines, as well as with medium-mature cheeses and robust meats like wild boar and venison. Cheers to the exquisite Ventisquero Vertice!
