Vicente Gandia Bobal Blanco

Winemaker Pepe Hidalgo is one of the few who knows exactly what the Bobal grape needs. In beautiful Valencia, he has access to an ideal vineyard in Utiel Requena. Here, the warm sun alternates with cool nights, allowing the grapes to ripen perfectly. And so, Hidalgo produces not only a superb red wine, but also a beautiful white one.

The Utiel Requena vineyards are located near the east coast of Valencia. The Vicente Gandia winery's history goes back some 125 years. The family has managed to grow the winery into the largest and finest in the region. They produce their distinctive wines in several production areas, earning them a spot among the top 100 European wineries. The winery has also won several international awards and is known for its excellent value for money. This white wine is made with red grapes of the Bobal variety. The entire process is specially controlled to achieve the best results. It is harvested by hand and pressed whole, resulting in a pressing yield of less than 45 percent, which means almost 2 kilos of Bobal grapes are used to produce a Vicente Gandia Bobal Blanco bottle. This must was chilled on the lees for three days to absorb its light color and fermented after racking at 14 degrees Celsius. The wine then finished with fermentation in American oak barrels.

The fresh aromas of Vicente Gandia Bobal Blanco

The Bobal Blanco is pale yellow in color with a radiant pink glow. The nose reveals aromas of ripe fruit like strawberries, complemented by white flowers. The palate is juicy with a fine acidity, finishing with a refreshing, long finish that reveals some forest fruits.
