A refreshing Italian wine from Viticcio. This dry white wine is made entirely from Vementino grapes grown on their own vineyards. The vines have an average age of eight years and are planted on sandy soil. Only the very best grapes are selected to ensure the production of a high-quality wine. And they certainly succeeded! This Vermentino is delightfully fresh and full-bodied, making it an ideal summer drink.
Authentic wines from Viticcio
Since 1964, Viticcio has been making wine among the rolling green hills of the Tuscan wine country in Greve in Chianti, between Florence and Siena. The winery's production began with a desire to capture and embody the potential of Chianti Classico, and it wasn't long before Viticcio wines became known for their true and high-quality expression of the Tuscan terroir. Since then, the winery has grown to encompass 120 hectares of land owned by an estate nestled in the hills of Chianti Classico and Maremma. Today, the Biba family continues the production of Viticcio winery, crafting wines that express the most authentic connection between nature and humanity. They are driven by passion and enthusiasm to craft their wines classic and elegant, yet with a fresh perspective on the terroir. The Vermentino grapes are sourced from vineyards located at an altitude of 200 meters above sea level. The soil is sandy and silty, predominantly sandstone, giving the grapes unique characteristics. They are harvested entirely by hand during the second week of September. After destemming and pressing, alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 13 degrees Celsius. Finally, the wine is aged in stainless steel for four months.
The subtle aromas of Vermentino Toscana
The wine displays a brilliant straw yellow with green hues in the glass. The aromas evoke a fresh evening breeze from the sea, with intense notes of white flowers such as acacia, hawthorn, and heather. Subtle, sweet nuances of pear, pineapple, and sage. Full and fresh on the palate, the wine is also very pleasant with strong mineral notes. It finishes with lingering and slightly bitter notes of iodine, typical of the variety and the grapes grown by the sea, which refresh the palate.
