Warwick Three Cape Ladies is a true Cape Blend. Cape Blend means the wine is a blend of various French grapes and the true South African Pinotage grape. A blend from the Cape. The name of this red wine comes from the original blend. At the time, the wine consisted of two different grapes: the well-known Bordeaux grapes Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, along with the South African Pinotage. Unfortunately, the wine lacked some strength, so the Warwick winemakers decided to add a small amount of Syrah. This addition made this Cape Blend perfect.
Completely hand-harvested for this red Three Cape Ladies
These four different grape varieties are all harvested and pressed by hand after rigorous selection. Due to the different grape varieties and the growing regions, the grapes are not harvested at the same time. Only after vinification of all the grapes is complete is the actual blend created. Once the blend is assembled, it's time for the wine to mature in peace. This aging takes place in French oak barrels for two years. 30% of these French oak barrels are new oak for a touch more strength. The result is a wine full of perfection and harmony!
The smell and taste of the Warwick Three Cape Ladies
The color is deep dark red with a black core. The nose reveals familiar Bordeaux aromas combined with a delightful fruity hint. The aromas of black fruit, such as blackberries and blueberries, are accompanied by hints of olive, cedar, vanilla, and a touch of cinnamon. The palate is very elegant and feminine. The tannin content is low, giving it a silky smoothness. The nuances of black fruit are prominent, along with notes of spice, coffee, and cocoa. A pleasant hint of vanilla lingers on the palate. The finish is long, soft, and sultry.
