Bodegas Valdemar is located in the Rioja Alavesa region of Oyón, just 5 kilometers north of the provincial capital, Logroño. The winery was founded in the 1980s by Martínez Bujanda, the former winery. At that time, Bodegas Valdemar set the standard for the entire region with its cutting-edge cellar technology. The winery has over 400 hectares of vineyards, all located in the Rioja Alavesa region. Valdemar pays special attention to the care of the ancient indigenous grape varieties Maturana and Graciano, and especially Garnacha, which, alongside Tempranillo, always find their way into their high-quality blends.
The well-balanced Conde Valdemar Crianza Rioja from Spain is a cuvée made from Graciano and Tempranillo grapes. After harvest, the grapes are sent directly to the press. Here, they are sorted and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in oak barrels at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by aging for 13 months in American oak barrels.
This wine glows ruby red in the glass and boasts intense aromas of cherries, plums, and jam, complemented by sweet wood and vanilla. The palate is also a true reflection of this Rioja gem, full and complex with soft, refined notes. In this Conde de Valdemar Crianza, we noted abundant black fruit and beautiful spices like pepper and chocolate. Vanilla and cedar are also prominent, creating a beautiful ensemble.
