Vintage Report
The 2021 vintage for Bolgheri received an excellent score of 94 points from Robert Parker. The wines from this vintage are currently still youthful and tannic, indicating a long and promising aging potential.
Bolgheri Tenuta Argentiera is a relatively new name for the area surrounding the Tuscan village of the same name. Despite this, this wine has quickly built a formidable reputation. The municipality of Bolgheri is located near the coast, south of the famous cities of Pisa and Livorno. It's an appellation that originated from the idea of creating more internationally styled wines using grape varieties other than those permitted.
The unique location of the Argentiera winery
Of all the wineries in the Bolgheri DOC, Tenuta Argentiera, situated on a small plateau in the far south and surrounded by a diverse natural environment, is the closest to the sea. From the top of the vineyards, there are magnificent views stretching from Baratti in the south to Castiglioncello in the north, complemented by a panorama of the Elba archipelago, Gorgona, and Capraia, with Corsica in the background. Argentiera takes its name from the Italian word "argento," meaning silver, and refers to the numerous silver mines of the past. Today, the company is owned by brothers Corrado and Marcello Fratini, and Piero Antinori. The Donoratico is composed of approximately 70 percent Cabernet Sauvignon, 25 percent Merlot, and 5 percent Cabernet Franc. The grapes are harvested by hand and selected on a sorting table located at an altitude of between 180 and 200 meters. The grapes are gravity-fed into tanks, where each varietal is vinified separately. Fermentation and maceration take place in stainless steel tanks for approximately 20-25 days at a controlled temperature never exceeding 28 degrees Celsius. The wine is then transferred to 225-liter French oak barrels, where malolactic fermentation is completed. Maturation takes place in oak barrels and then in the bottle before release. The aromas and flavors of Argentiera Villa Donoratico Bolgheri

This Villa Donoratico Bolgheri Argentiera has been praised in various international wine magazines and is ready to be discovered by wine lovers.Product details
