The finest, the showpiece, the jewel of the Château de Chamirey winery, this Mercurey La Mission 1er Cru. For generations, the Devillards have owned four estates in Burgundy, from north to south, from the Côte de Nuits to the Mâconnais. This offering is unique in Burgundy. Vintage after vintage, the same high standards and consistent quality drive the family and its teams. Together, they share the same philosophy: producing the finest wines possible, the finest expression of their terroir, characterized by balance and elegance. This is also how they own Château de Chamirey, a historic estate in the Côte Chalonnaise.

A unique wine from Chateau de Chamirey

The Château de Chamirey vineyards are located in Mercurey. They are the largest producer of white Mercurey and consist partly of vineyards classified as Premier Cru. The Premier Cru "La Mission" is a monopoly of the estate. This means that the entire Premier Cru is owned by Château de Chamirey. No other estate can market a wine from this Cru. Imagine how special it is! The quality of this Cru is exceptional, and Domaine Devillard dreams of this vineyard one day becoming one of the first Grands Crus of the Côte Chalonnaise. The grapes for this La Mission are harvested by hand. After sorting, the entire harvest is pressed. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentations take place in oak barrels. The wine then ages for 12 to 14 months, after which it is bottled and marketed.

What a powerful, full-bodied wine, with a golden color and green highlights. A classic aroma with plenty of vanilla, citrus, lime, butter, and roasted nuts. It has a lovely woody flavor with excellent length. We can definitely tell that a great deal of care has gone into this wine!
