Campi DeAntera “Are” Fiano Salento
The Campi DeAntera “Are” Fiano Salento IGT comes from Monteparano in Salento and demonstrates how Fiano expresses itself in the warm south of Italy. What does Salento IGT mean? IGT stands for Indicazione Geografica Tipica and indicates that the wine comes from a specific geographical area, with more freedom in vinification than with DOC wines, but with clear origin.
This wine is made entirely from Fiano and produced according to a precise process to preserve its aromatic character.
Origin and vineyards
The vineyards are located in Monteparano, Salento, approximately 100 meters above sea level.
-
Monteparano, Salento: warm region with high average temperatures and moderately low rainfall.
-
Guyot pruning system: focused on quality control.
-
Plant density of 5,000 vines per hectare: promotes concentration.
-
Shallow, clay and sand-rich yellow soils: provide structure and minerality.
These conditions give the wine its fresh yet southern character.
Grape and vinification
Fiano – Salento, Monteparano
Fiano is an aromatic Italian grape known for its floral expression and fresh structure.
Harvest takes place at the end of August. The grapes are destemmed and remain in contact with the skins for several hours at a low temperature to extract aromas. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks for almost two weeks at 15 °C to protect the varietal profile. Subsequently, the wine matures for five months in stainless steel.
Character and style
In the glass, this Fiano displays a straw yellow color. The aroma is delicate with white flowers, citrus, and notes of Mediterranean scrub. On the palate, the wine is elegant, fresh, and mineral, with a pleasant length.
Serve at around 10–12 °C to best highlight its freshness and aromatic finesse.
