The newest addition to the Talo family, from the magnificent San Marzano winery. A superb wine made from the Fiano grape. This relatively unknown grape is gaining popularity. More and more producers are appreciating the quality of Fiano, including San Marzano. This Talo San Marzano Fiano is an ode to Fiano and all the other indigenous grape varieties that don't enjoy the popularity of Primitivo, Negroamaro, or Trebbiano. A fantastic glass of wine that we can't get enough of.
The harvest of the Fiano grapes
The vines for Fiano are located in the province of Taranto, which is actually in the center of Puglia. Because the vineyards are situated slightly further inland than, for example, wines from Salento, the grapes enjoy more sun. Furthermore, the grapes are harvested in early August to prevent them from overripe, preserving the fine and elegant characteristics of Fiano. Fiano yields are generally low to ensure a certain level of quality. So enjoy Talo San Marzano Fiano quickly, because this Italian white wine will be gone before you know it!
