Vintage Report
Robert Parker has awarded the 2023 vintage in Languedoc an excellent score of 94 points. This indicates a year of very high quality for the wines from this region.
The Grenache Noir grapes for this delicious red wine from Paul Mas come from various vineyards in the Languedoc region. Choosing different regions proved a wise decision. The varying soils where the vines are planted create a delightful diversity in this Grenache Noir. Each vineyard receives the winemakers' full attention. All vineyards and vines are carefully monitored to ensure a perfect red wine. The Grenache Noir grape is no longer widely used, though it is still often found in various blends. The Grenache Noir, also known as Garnacha in Spain, is a grape with a thin, relatively colorless skin. When made into red wine, it creates a delicious, light red wine.
Only the best is good enough at Vignobles Paul Mas
Paul Mas, he's also called an artist or a creature. A term we wholeheartedly agree with. This fine man can make wine like no other, and strives to make his wines taste like the grapes. A pursuit that should be quite normal, but Paul Mas loves simplicity. This simplicity creates beautifully pure wines that reflect the best of France as a wine country. At Vignobles Paul Mas, only the best is good enough for the vineyards, the grapes, and of course, the wine. Furthermore, the winery is always looking for innovation and challenges. One of these challenges was making a red wine from only the Grenache Noir grape. And certainly not without results! What does the Paul Mas Grenache Noir taste like?
We're incredibly curious about this red wine. The first impression in the glass is that, given its beautiful, clear ruby color, it's a light yet delicate red wine. The aroma reveals a delightfully fruity character with red berry jam and dark chocolate. The fruity feast continues on the palate with fleshy red and blue berries, candied cherries, a hint of lavender, soft tannins, and a hint of pepper in the finish. Round, spicy, sultry, and smooth.Product details
