This red wine is considered one of South Africa's finest. You could say that Seriously Old Dirt is its little brother. However, that label isn't entirely accurate. This Vilafonte red wine also possesses sufficient quality to distinguish itself from other beautiful red wines.

The vineyards of Seriously Old Dirt Vilafonte

The Vilafonte project began in the late 1990s, when the most beautiful vineyards in the Paarl wine region were planted with various classic grape varieties. The Paarl region borders the renowned Stellenbosch wine region and, together with it, represents the absolute pinnacle of South African winemaking. Wineries like Vilafonte certainly contribute to this. They strive for sky-high quality. Craftsmanship of the highest order. By producing wine with precision and care, they have been leading the way in the Paarl region for almost two decades.

A South African wine full of allure

Few red wines in this price range possess as much allure as Seriously Old Dirt. It's an excellent blend of three classic grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Malbec. After being hand-harvested, the precious juice is aged in oak for a full 22 months. It takes time, but the result is truly impressive. The aroma of this Vilafonte wine alone makes us fall head over heels in love. You smell so much: red cherries, soft plums, and fresh blueberries. But swirl the red wine around in your glass, and nuances of cayenne pepper, dried herbs, vanilla, white chocolate, cinnamon, and cigar boxes form a fabulous whole. The taste is a grand South African celebration that you'll never want to end. Your taste buds will be in overdrive with generous aromas of red fruit, delicate spices, soft herbs, and fine tannins.
