Vintage Report

The 2022 vintage is an excellent year for red Burgundies from the Côte de Beaune, boasting an impressive Robert Parker score of 95 points. This indicates wines of exceptional quality and beautiful ripeness.
}
Pommard is known as the most famous red wine region in the Côte de Beaune. The wines are consistently rich and aromatic. Some of the Pinot Noir vines from Domaine Berthelemot here date back to 1924. This gives the wine great depth, and the opulence of the vintage makes this beautiful Pommard highly recommended!

The success of the Berthelemot winery

Berthelemot is a young estate, established in 2006 as the result of a merger of plots owned by Jean Garaudet and Yves Darvoit. Its success is due to the hard work and talent of founder Brigitte Berthelemot, along with her estate manager and winemaker Marc Cugney. The vines are planted in limestone soils in excellent locations. The vineyards are carefully monitored, allowing for timely planning. Burgundy is a humid region known for its high limestone content. This allows for the production of quality wines from Pinot Noir grapes in the diverse climates of Burgundy.

Vinification of Berthelemot's Pommard Rouge

This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety: Pinot Noir. Only impeccable grapes were supplied for this wonderfully balanced grape variety from Berthelemot. When perfectly ripe, the grapes for Pommard Noizons Rouge are harvested exclusively by hand, without the aid of coarse and less selective harvesting machinery. After harvesting, the grapes reach the winery as quickly as possible. Here, they are selected and carefully crushed. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After fermentation is complete, Pommard Noizons Rouge is allowed to harmonize with the fine yeast for several months. The Pommard from the Burgundy wine region is a bright, light red in the glass. The aroma reveals aromas of mulberries, blackberries, and blueberries. Its fruity character is combined with fruity balsamic notes. It is a dry wine with no residual sugar. This well-balanced red wine has an extremely silky texture, finishing with a delightful aftertaste.
