This new wine from Weinhaus Gebr. Steffen demonstrates the versatility of this winery. With such an impressive history, this is no surprise. It all began at the end of the 18th century, in 1794, when Johann Steffen founded the German winery. The first 150 years were characterized by small-scale operations. From 1945 onward, descendants Johann and Peter Steffen expanded the family business into what it is today: a respected family business that produces exquisite German wines. By consistently prioritizing quality and sustainability, they continually innovate German wines.

Steffen's vineyards

The Steffen winery is located in the picturesque village of Trittenheim, situated on the banks of the mighty Mosel River. This region is characterized by vineyards growing on steep slopes along the river. However, Steffen owns several vineyards in several locations throughout Germany. For example, the grapes for this Steffen die Blaue Spatlese come from Rheinhessen, a region further east, on the route to Frankfurt. However, quality remains paramount. Only the fullest and most beautiful bunches are allowed to be part of Steffen die Blaue Spatlese, and the moment you open a bottle of this German wine, you'll immediately notice that.

The smell and taste of Steffen die Blaue Spatlese

Subtle, elegant, and friendly. And we haven't even mentioned the bottle's appearance. The blue glass of Steffen die Blaue Spatlese gives this white wine that little something extra, making it stand out from the crowd. The Riesling grapes are fermented in stainless steel, ensuring Steffen die Blaue Spatlese retains its freshness. However, the wine also boasts considerable depth. Nuances of soft fruit blend with lush notes of plum and fresh lime. Its refreshing character makes Steffen die Blaue Spatlese an excellent accompaniment to oysters or eel, for example.
